Miles Teller was born on February 20, 1987 in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. Growing up he liked music and played both the drums and saxophone. He took part in a drama club and has a Bachelor of Fine Arts. His first work on camera was in various short films. In 2007 he was driving along with some friends when the car crashed. He flew out of the car and still has several scars on his face and neck as a result. In an interview he stated that those scars helped him to get the role in Rabbit Hole. He has acted in Footloose, Project X, The Spectacular Now, 21 & Over, Whiplash, That Awkward Moment, Divergent, Two Night Stand and will be Mr. Fantastic in the new Fantastic Four movie.

Just saw Whiplash last night and loved it. Teller gives a very intense performance, and manages to stay toe-to-toe with J.K. Simmons.
I thought he was really interesting in The Spectacular Now, but the film was missold. My real problem with him as an actor is that he has a very dislikeable face which, I suppose, works for the roles he’s playing.
Yeah, stunning movie and you are right that he keeps up with J.K. who really is amazing in it.
Yeah, also found it to be quite interesting and actually enjoy him working with Woodley on a couple of movies. A dislikeable face? Never heard anyone say that before 😉
Oh weird, I never realized he was actually older than me. I thought he was 20-21. Either way, he’s very talented and I can’t wait to see him in Whiplash.
See that movie as soon as you can Brittani as I don’t think you will be disappointed.
He’s one of the freshest new talents. I can’t wait to see where his career takes him!
Yeah, I’m with you on that.
Forgot I had seen him in Rabbit Hole. He was good in that one. Also liked him in Whiplash.
Me too, but that’s the funny thing when you look back at movies of specific actors…it sometimes leads to surprises 🙂
Yeah, I love rediscovering that type of things.
He’s become one of my favorites in recent years as I think Whiplash is his best work to date along with The Spectacular Now and Rabbit Hole.
I also saw him in the godawful and unnecessary remake of Footloose in the role that Chris Penn played. Whereas the young leads in the film weren’t any good in that film. It was Teller that stood out where he was the Chris Penn character and did it with such ease and naturalism while making it his own. That is an element of what it takes to be a great actor.
Interesting info on Footloose. Have to admit that I did not see that one (or the original for that matter)
